Hot Chocolate Sauce

Hot Fudge Sauce

This decadent sauce tastes delicious on ice cream, cookies, strawberries, brownie topped with ice cream, or actually on almost anything you want topped or dipped with chocolate.

1 cup heavy cream

¾ cup sugar

4 ounces unsweetened chocolate

2 T light corn syrup

2 t vanilla extract

In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, heat all the ingredients except vanilla over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil, stirring occasionally.  While the mixture is gently boiling, cook 4 to 5 minutes longer to thicken the sauce, stirring constantly.  Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in vanilla.  Serve immediately, or cool completely.  Taking care not to cover the chocolate until the sauce is cold, cover and refrigerate.  Heat the amount desired in the microwave at medium power level and enjoy.
